About Me

I was always into art growing up, but no particular medium captured my attention. I worked with fimo clay doing relief sculpture in my teens, but tired of it fairly quickly. I got my first SLR (Nikon FM2) in 1998, and haven't looked back. Photography allows me to show others the way I see.

Since graduating from Goucher College, I have been freelancing for various publications as well as running my own business. I network, organize, and produce all my own shoots.

I love both the challenge of shooting a live show and having to deal with whatever the stage and lighting look like, as well as the control of choosing my own location and setting up all my own lighting for portraits and fashion shoots.

My biggest photography influences include George Hurrell, Diane Arbus, Alfred Eisenstaedt, and Richard Avedon.

For details on my experience see my resume.

This is my assistant, Midi. Both she and my equipment have grown exponentially since I took this.
